Appliance Yard ("we", "us") is the data controller for personal data collected through applianceyard.com. We are committed to handling your data lawfully and transparently under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

What we collect
- Information you give us: name, delivery and billing address, email, phone number, and order details. Payment card details are entered directly with our payment providers — we never see or store full card numbers.
- Information collected automatically: IP address, device and browser type, pages visited, and referring site, gathered through cookies and similar technologies.
- Information from third parties: order and fraud-screening data from our payment processors, and delivery status from carriers.

Who we share it with
We share data only with parties who need it to run the store: our e-commerce platform (Shopify), payment processors, delivery carriers and installers, email and analytics providers, and professional advisers. Some providers are outside the UK; where that happens we rely on UK adequacy regulations or International Data Transfer Agreements with standard contractual clauses.
We never sell your personal data.
How long we keep it
Order and transaction records are kept for 6 years to meet HMRC and accounting requirements. Marketing data is kept until you unsubscribe. Website analytics data is kept for up to 26 months.
Your rights
You have the right to access your data, correct it, request erasure, restrict or object to processing, request portability, and withdraw consent at any time. Email support@applianceyard.com and we will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Cookies
We use cookies that are strictly necessary for the site to work (cart, checkout, security), plus analytics and marketing cookies where you have consented. You can manage your preferences through our cookie banner or your browser settings; blocking essential cookies will stop checkout from working.
Children
Our store is not directed at under-16s and we do not knowingly collect their data.

We may update this policy. The "last updated" date above always reflects the current version.
